Plot[]
Part 1[]
Day 32 - c. Tuesday 26 September 1972
Jim eventually gives up waiting for Sharon to emerge out of her hiding place in the Abbey.
Beryl Crossthwaite, Sharon's mum, is at home frantic with worry. Annie tries to reassure her but Joe suggests calling the police.
PC Ball spots Trash wondering around and questions what he is doing and if he has seen a young girl aged around 17. He says he hasn’t.
PC Ball then enters the Woolpack where he finds Jim and questions him about Sharon's disappearance. He claims not to have seen her since the sheepdog trials.
Henry Wilks has dinner at The Hall with George Verney who admits that he regrets not having any children.
Sharon, back at home, tells her mother that she felt ill and had to rest which was why she did not come straight home. Annie tells Beryl to be thankful she’s back in one piece.
Trash breaks into The Mill and spends the night there.
Matt asks for a fortnights holiday to renovate Jamesons Farm for himself and Peggy. Henry arrives and says he has received a telegram from Marian saying that Jack is not with her. They wonder what has happened to him.
Part 2[]
Day 33 - c. Wednesday 27 September 1972
Joe tells Matt he was certain Jack and Marian were going to marry. They then discuss Joe's love life and that Janie is marrying Frank.
Matt drives Annie into the village where she sees Beryl and Sharon. Jim follows behind as they walk along. Sharon tells him to keep away. He tells her he is sorry and wasn’t going to do anything. When he asks about the police she tells him she said she was sick. As he continues to tell her he wasn’t up to anything they’re interrupted by Beryl.
George phones the Selborne Hotel wanting to speak to his wife. He sees Trash walking through the grounds who flees when George calls out to him.
Trash walks around Beckindale and steals some eggs before returning to the Mill. As he begins to prepare some food, Jack returns home: “Sorry, I didn’t know I had guests!”
